HP’s Mobile Internet Experience (MIE) on Video. Slick.

FireFox for browsing, Thunderbird for email, Pidgin for IM, Skype for phone and video conferencing and OpenOffice for, er, officing. HP will have their own repository of MIE compatible applications that can be installed using the system’s application manager.
The video shows only a prototype but DAMN, it’s impressive. You might find my Acer Aspire One for sale here once the MIE model becomes available.
The starting price for this 10-inch netbook with MIE installed is $379. Models with Windows installed start at $399. A version with an 8.9-inch display will also be available.
